Our history of providing photogrammetric mapping products and services dates back over five decades. Milton J. Harden helped pioneer the use of photogrammetry in the U.S. while working with the U. S. Geological Survey, and eventually took his experience with this developing technology into private practice as the beginning of our mapping business. Over the years, we have carried on his legacy by continuing to advance the leading edge of photogrammetric science through innovation and imagination. MJ Harden has completed tens of thousands of mapping and GIS implementation projects, and we are known for performance and reliability throughout the many industries we serve. MJ Harden Milestones1936 Milton J. Harden joins a U.S.G.S. team to produce topographic maps using aerial photography. 1956 MJ Harden Associates, Inc. (MJH) is founded by Milton J. Harden in Kansas City, Missouri. 1957 MJH undertakes it’s first major mapping project -US Interstate 40 highway. 1972 The first digital map product is delivered by MJH. 1973 The first orthophoto map product is delivered by MJH. 1976 MJH is the first photogrammetry firm to implement a digital mapping system. 1986 GPS technology is integrated into MJH workflows. 1987 MJH photogrammetric production becomes fully digital. GIS implementation begins. 1999 MJH stereo compilation department completes conversion to softcopy mapping. 2003 GE Energy acquires MJ Harden Associates, Inc. 2004 MJH acquires the Zeiss/Intergraph DMC® digital aerial imaging system. 2005 MJH becomes ISO 9001: 2000 certified. 2007 MJ Harden Associates, Inc. is acquired by GeoEye. 2007 MJH acquires the Optech ALTM Gemini advanced LiDAR system. |
